New!/$50

Update: The new Xbox Nano controller is now up for pre-order at Amazon for $49.99 shipped. This listing also falls under the Amazon pre-order Guarantee, meaning you’ll be charged the lowest price if it falls to a lower price between now and release. More details in the original post below.

Microsoft just took its familiar Xbox controller and shrunk it down for its latest release. The new Xbox Nano Controller is the company’s smallest gamepad yet, but it still keeps the full set of controls intact instead of turning into a stripped-down mini controller. The brand says it’s a better fit for younger players with smaller hands, or for those who’re simply looking to buy a compact gamepad for travel or cloud gaming on-the-go. Preorders are now live at $49.99 shipped, with the controller set to see a wider rollout in November. Head below for a closer look and more details.

The best part about the new Xbox Nano Controller is that Microsoft hasn’t really cut anything important just to make it smaller. You still get all 18 standard Xbox inputs, only packed into a more compact body. There are even a few useful extras here, including a rechargeable battery and a programmable Action Button that can be used for things like screenshots, gameplay captures, and other shortcuts. It also supports both Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth, so you can use it across compatible consoles and other supported devices instead of keeping it tied to just one setup.

At $49.99 shipped, the Xbox Nano controller also comes in below Microsoft’s standard wireless controller, making it a more affordable add-on to your setup if you just want an additional controller at hand. Microsoft says the new controller will begin rolling out in the US and several other markets in November, with more regions set to follow later.

Microsoft is also tying the new controller into a couple of holiday promotions. In the US, select Samsung TV purchases will come with an Xbox Nano Controller and two months of Game Pass Ultimate for new members, while a similar bundle will be offered with select Meta Quest hardware. Between the lower price, compact size, and full Xbox control layout, the Nano looks like a pretty interesting new addition to Microsoft’s accessory lineup heading into the holiday season.
