AlphaGrep Mutual Fund announced the launch of its SIF platform - Eminence SIF, with its first investment strategy, the Eminence Hybrid Long-Short Fund, an interval investment strategy investing in equity and debt securities, including limited short exposure in equity and debt through derivatives.
The new fund offer or NFO of the fund will open for subscription on October 14 and will close on October 28.
Designed for sophisticated investors, the Eminence Hybrid Long-Short Fund aims to complement traditional equity and fixed income allocations by seeking returns from multiple investment opportunities rather than relying primarily on the direction of equity markets, according to a press release by the fund house.

The strategy combines equity long-short, special situations, options strategies, arbitrage and fixed income within a single portfolio, with capital dynamically allocated across these opportunities through a disciplined risk management framework.
Unlike traditional investment products that are largely dependent on market appreciation, the strategy seeks to generate returns from a diversified set of return drivers while actively managing portfolio risk and market exposure. The objective is to provide investors with an alternative allocation that can participate across different market environments.
The launch of Eminence SIF builds on AlphaGrep's experience of managing quantitative long-short strategies through its Category III Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) businesses. The investment philosophy, portfolio construction framework and risk management processes developed over years of managing institutional long-short portfolios now form the foundation of the Eminence Hybrid Long-Short Fund within the SIF framework.
"The way investors build portfolios is evolving. While equities and debt remain core allocations, sophisticated investors are increasingly looking for strategies that can generate returns from multiple market opportunities with lower dependence on overall market direction. Eminence SIF has been designed to play that role within a portfolio,” said Bhautik Ambani, CEO, AlphaGrep Mutual Fund.
The CEO further stated “At AlphaGrep, we have spent years managing quantitative long-short strategies through our Category III AIF platform, developing expertise in identifying multiple sources of alpha while maintaining a disciplined approach to risk management.”
Eminence Hybrid Long-Short Fund is set to bring this institutional investment philosophy into the SIF framework, combining equity long-short, special situations, options strategies, arbitrage and fixed income within a single actively managed portfolio. "We believe this provides investors with a differentiated alternative allocation built on proven investment experience and robust risk management." He said.
The minimum investment amount will be Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 lakh for accredited investors. The fund house said that the suggested investment horizon for this fund is 12 months and above.
