NJ Deputy Attorney General used AI to make and share child porn, officials say

A Pennsylvania man who is a Deputy Attorney General for the state of New Jersey was arrested for using artificial intelligence to create and share child sexual abuse materials, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation started when a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) revealed that a person on the social platform Discord shared an illicit file on July 10, 2026, officials said.
Through digital forensics investigators were able to link the account to the home of Brian Richard Fitzgerald, 51, on Edgewood Road in Lower Makefield Township, Pennsylvania, according to officials.
Fitzgerald is a deputy Attorney General for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
Detectives said they conducted a search warrant on Fitzgerald’s home on Oct. 15, 2026, where they found prompts and scripts that had been used to create AI-generated child sexual abuse material.
Resources for victims of sexual assault are available through the National Sexual Violence Resources Center and the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-4673.
Chat logs revealed that Fitzgerald used the username “thegentlemanpervert_2160_07833” on Discord and he had admitted to making the AI images as well as sharing them, officials said.
Fitzgerald was arrested and is charged with possession of child sexual abuse material, dissemination of photos or film of child sexual abuse materials,and criminal use of a communication facility.
He is being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $2 million bail, 10%.
Fitzgerald’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for later in October.
