The latest addition to Baby Audio’s ever-expanding collection of plug-ins is a new time-bending effect built around the company’s granular engine. HyperWarp combines granular processing with a graph-based sequencer, allowing it to manipulate both time and timbre in new and interesting ways. 

HyperWarp allows users to ‘draw in’. the likes of speed shifts, stutter steps and direction changes that transform audio signals into glitchy rhythmic sequences or fluid, time-warped motion effects. The incoming signal gets broken down into micro-sampled grains, which are then reassembled with the ‘sonic imprint’ of one of seven built-in effect profiles. Here’s a quick breakdown of what each of the seven sound profiles have to offer:

• Clean Warp: Crisp temporal manipulation with independent pitch and time.
• Flange Warp: Tight grains, squeaky effects, with total control over time and pitch.
• Degrade Warp: Lo-fi time disruption with a granular twist.
• Filter Spam: Per-grain filter motion with plenty of random behaviour.
• Harmo-Nicer: Harmonic density builder with pitch-shifted grains.
• Fauxcoder: Resonant harmonic generator reminiscent of classic vocoder effects.
• Lo-Fizzly: Digital down-sampling done granular-style with ‘fizzly’ results.

The profiles are said to be capable of producing everything from subtle time manipulation to extreme-sounding lo-fi effects, and despite it’s tonal range, HyperWarp features just eight controls in addition to it’s sequencer. Baby Audio say that users need no previous knowledge of granular techniques, and as well as coming with a healthy selection of presets, the plug-in will also generate random patches with a single click.

HyperWarp is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 10.13 and above. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. 

HyperWarp is available now, and is currently (7 October 2026) being offered at an introductory price of $49£39, reduced from its full cost of $99£79. Prices include VAT.
