WeissKlang have just introduced a new and improved version of the plug-in that pairs up with their V13 modelling microphone. Designed specifically for the V13, KlangFormer 2 has been developed entirely in-house by the WeissKlang team, and launches alongside the V13 Special Edition, a limited run of the popular mic that comes sporting a sleek black finish.

When paired up with KlangFormer 2, the V13’s neutral character can be altered significantly to emulate the sound and behaviour of different mics. There are 11 switchable modes that emulate the sound of ribbons, valve mics, transformer outputs and so on, along with some other handy tone-shaping tools. An Intensity control governs the amount of colouration introduced, while Air offers a high-frequency lift and Proximity makes it possible to tame excessive proximity effect. WeissKlang say that for the best results, users should employ the cleanest-sounding preamp possible.

• 11 meticulously modelled colourations.
• Authentic reproduction of harmonic distortion and saturation.
• Intensity control for seamless dry/wet blending.
• Air control for controlled openness in the air band.
• V13-tailored proximity effect compensation.
• Calibrated VU meter for precise output monitoring.
• Separate input and output controls.

KlangFormer 2 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 12 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

The V13 Special Edition is available until 18 October 2026 at a special price of €349 (usually €499). KlangFormer 2 is also available now, and is free to download for all V13 owners.
