A grand jury indicted three people in connection with the alleged illegal acquisition of firearms and the alleged entry into a secure U.S. Department of Energy site in North Las Vegas, the Department of Justice announced Tuesday.

Federal prosecutors allege that Treyvon Currie and Jessica Zamora attempted to enter the U.S. Department of Energy Nevada National Security Site’s North Las Vegas Facility under false pretenses and illegally possessed a gun at the facility. Zamora faces two additional counts related to the illegal acquisition of firearms. A third person, Demandre Frazier, also faces one count related to the alleged illegal acquisition of a firearm.

“The FBI will not tolerate acts that jeopardize public safety or the security of our nation’s protected institutions,” FBI Las Vegas Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto said in a news release. “We will continue working diligently with our law enforcement partners to investigate any individual who attempts to breach secure areas or circumvent federal firearms restrictions.”

According to court records, Zamora and Currie drove onto the North Las Vegas site, located at 232 Energy Way, near Losee Road and North 5th Street, on Aug. 5.

The facility supports the Nevada National Security Site’s nuclear weapons stockpile stewardship program and environmental management and national security responses.

When approached by a DOE law enforcement officer, Zamora and Currie said they were following two employees onto the site and provided two fictitious names, the indictment states.

A search of the vehicle led authorities to recover a Smith & Wesson semiautomatic pistol, court records show.

An investigation found that Frazier and Zamora made false statements on a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives form submitted to a pawn shop while Zamora was allegedly attempting to buy the firearm for another person, the indictment states. Zamora and an unnamed defendant face an additional firearms charge related to another gun acquisition in April, according to the Justice Department.

An attorney representing Zamora previously told the Review-Journal that she and Currie “made a wrong turn.”

“The FBI alleges there was this complicated conspiracy to do something that they’re not even sure of,” attorney Chris Rasmussen previously said. “I don’t know why Zamora and Currie were out there either, but if you’re going to sneak onto a secret base, you would not go through the front entrance.”

A trial has been set for Nov. 2, 2026.
