GT7 Photo Mode image by nomemimiA new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with three fresh events now live and running through next Monday, October 19.
Race A is getting most of the love this week. Everyone drives the Gran Turismo Red Bull X2014 Junior for five laps of the Red Bull Ring on Racing Hard tires, with BOP (M), a grid start with a false start check, and brake balance the only setting left open. It’s a fun combination, and the only real knock on it is that five laps isn’t quite long enough to let the racing develop.
It’s a different story for Races B and C. Both are category races, and in both the car to beat is a Hyundai. The Genesis Gr.3 is already dominating the leaderboards at Spa, and the Hyundai Elantra N TC ’24 is doing the same at Sardegna. That’s been an ongoing complaint since the 1.71 physics update landed in August, with GTPlanet members calling for a BOP fix in both classes and questioning what Hyundai gets out of a Gr.3 car based on a model most people couldn’t buy anyway.
Race B is five laps of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Gr.3 cars on Racing Medium tires, with BOP (H), a rolling start, and brake balance open.
Race C is the longest of the three, at fifteen laps of Sardegna – Road Track – B in Gr.4 cars under BOP (L). Fuel use is doubled and tire wear runs at 5x, and both Racing Medium and Racing Soft tires are required, so the race will include a tire change. It’s another rolling start, with brake balance the only open setting.
GT7 Daily Races (October 12): Race ADaily Races are the main ranked multiplayer events in Gran Turismo 7. Your Driver Rating (DR) and Sportsmanship Rating (SR) are updated after every race based on how you perform, and they determine your seeding for the game’s flagship esports series each season.
To get into Sport Mode in the first place, you’ll need to unlock it by clearing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe, and a PlayStation Plus subscription is required to race online.
With GT7’s Daily Races rolling over every Monday, the next new set should land on Monday, October 19.
† Mandatory tire change required.
