Apple released iOS 27 beta 4 today, giving developers the next preview update since iOS 27 debuted at WWDC. Developers can download the new beta now.

iOS 27 is a major iPhone update centered around Siri AI, Apple Intelligence, Liquid Glass refinements, and a long list of quality-of-life changes. Here’s what we’ve found so far in iOS 27 beta 4.

iOS 27 beta 4 is available now for developer beta testers. The build number is 23G71.

You can install the update by opening the Settings app, choosing General, then Software Update. From there, select iOS 27 Developer Beta under Beta Updates.

As with any beta release, we do not recommend installing iOS 27 beta 4 on a primary iPhone without expecting potential performance issues. You should expect bugs, battery life differences, app compatibility challenges, and other rough edges until Apple gets closer to the fall release.

Here are some changes we’ve found in iOS 27 beta 4 so far.

• Siri AI has a new “splash screen” when invoking Siri from the Dynamic Island or swiping down on the Home screen.
• This beta fixes the depth effect bug that beta 3 introduced. It was fun while it lasted.
• Siri has two enhanced voices with pace and expressivity working. Five legacy voices still show pace and expressivity sliders as coming soon.
• Control Center now supports the new adaptive mode slider for AirPods Pro.
• TV app now intelligently downloads upcoming episodes as you progress through a season.
• New “Zoom Photos to Fill” Photos setting for images with similar aspect ratio to device display.
• New “Preview” Siri app setting for changing how many lines of text appear in chat lists, similar to Mail.
• Potential dual-battery code references found, hinting at foldable iPhone Ultra.

Not every iOS 27 feature is available on every iPhone. The update supports iPhone 11 and later, plus iPhone SE 2 and newer, while Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features require newer hardware.

Apple will continue beta testing iOS 27 throughout the summer. A public beta was released last week. The official release for everyone should arrive in September alongside the new iPhone lineup.
