Call it beginner’s luck, but longtime knife/EDC influencer Zac Whitmore (aka Zac in the Wild) hit it out of the park with his very first design.

Dubbed the Yonder, the cool and capable folder won Best Buy of the Year at Blade Show 2024.
At Blade Show 2024, Zac Whitmore’s Yonder took home Best Buy of the Year, a rare honor for a first-time designer.CiviviAs that designation implies, the knife came out of the gate quite affordable, but now it is even more so thanks to Prime Day, as it gets a 14 to 15 percent price cut in two of the best variants.
The discount sees the Dark Green edition of the knife drop from $69 to $59, while the higher-end Damascus version drops from $94 to $80.
The standard Yonder uses 14C28N Swedish stainless steel, prized for its sharpening ease and corrosion resistance.CiviviWeighing just 2.53 ounces, both variants feature a 2.88-inch spey point blade with an ambidextrous thumb stud, a reversible tip-up clip and a modern crossbar lock with a ceramic ball bearing pivot, which ensures swift, smooth deployment and retraction with one hand.
The more affordable version features 14C28N Swedish stainless steel, known for its corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening, with a black stonewashed finish and a micarta handle offering an ergonomic, chamfered grip designed for comfort under extended use.
Step up to the Damascus version and you get head-turning blade steel known for its edge retention and toughness.CiviviThe pricier treatment upgrades to Damascus steel, which boasts a 2,000-plus years of history, potent edge retention and toughness and a telltale ripple, appearing here with a striking jagged pattern.
On the other end, it gets a warm Guibourtia wood handle that lends a touch of class to a compact EDC knife with so much going for it already.
