Jake Paul has slammed Bob Arum labelling him as a 'dinosaur' over comments made by the boxing suggesting people 'don't pay attention' to women's boxing. 

The YouTuber-turned-boxer represents Amanda Serrano who is set for a historic headlining bout at Madison Square Garden, in New York, for the undisputed lightweight championship on April 30.

Top Rank promoter said the fight won't attract the same interest as the fight he will stage on the same night between Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson.

Paul, immediately criticised Arum's comments and said he had sympathy for Mikaela Mayer who is represented by the 90-year-old.

On Twitter he wrote: 'Men like this dinosaur are the reason women haven't been given a fair shake in many parts of society.

'I feel sorry for Mikaela Mayer she deserves better. And he says ESPN doesn't care about the biggest women's boxing event in history? #TaylorSerrano will make history with or without you.'

Taylor's clash with Serrano will be promoted by Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn at one of the most famous arenas in the world.

They will become the first women to headline at the iconic New York venue in one of female boxing's biggest ever nights.

Meanwhile the 130-pound unification bout between Valdez and Stevenson is set to take place on the same night and will be promoted by Arum and Top Rank.

Arum claimed he was unconcerned by the illustrious events taking place head-to-head in America, and compared it to the 'Premier League against women's football'. 

'As good a fight as that is, I mean, come on,' Arum told iFL TV. 'For whatever reason people don't particularly pay attention to the women's fights.

'ESPN made the schedule and they couldn't care less. I don't want to denigrate fights and I don't want to be accused of being anti-women in sports but I'm telling you this is like the Premier League against women's football.'
