It’s been a no good, very bad week for Matt Dunlap.

First, Dunlap doubled down on his completely out of touch vote to raise the gas tax. Then, he was exposed for repeatedly voting for tax hikes and fee increases on Mainers, and he was called out for protecting sexual predators.

And today, he was named one of “The Worst Democratic Candidates of 2026.”

It’s almost like protecting predators, raising taxes, and embracing a Nazi-lover and alleged rapist isn’t a recipe for a successful campaign…

“Matt Dunlap has voted to protect predators instead of victims, voted to raise taxes instead of deliver relief to hardworking Mainers, and embraced an alleged rapist instead of standing up for what’s right. At every single turn, Matt Dunlap has shown voters that he is totally backwards and out of touch with Mainers, and he has no business representing them in Washington.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
