Manage your newsletter subscribers directly inside WP Admin. View subscriber details, add new subscribers, remove subscribers, and search or filter your list without leaving your site.

Open the Subscribers page

To access your subscribers list, go to Jetpack → Newsletter → Subscribers in WP Admin.
The Subscribers tab lists every active subscriber on your site.

The Subscribers page in WP Admin replaces the previous behavior where Jetpack → Subscribers redirected to Jetpack Cloud. You can still manage subscribers from Jetpack Cloud if you prefer — both interfaces operate on the same subscriber list.

What you can do on the Subscribers page

You can view and manage your subscribers from this page. Here’s an overview of the possible actions:

  • View subscriber details: select a subscriber’s row to open their profile. You’ll see their subscription date, subscription type, email subscription status, country, engagement stats (emails sent, open rate, click rate), and which categories they receive emails for, if Newsletter categories are enabled on your site.
  • Add subscribers: select Add subscribers to open the import modal.
    • Under Manually, enter one or more email addresses separated by commas or line breaks. Addresses are imported directly; subscribers are not sent an invitation email. You’ll receive an email when the import finishes.
    • Under Upload CSV, import a subscriber list exported from products like Substack, Beehiiv, Mailchimp, Ghost, Patreon, Kit, or Medium.
    • Under From Substack, use the guided Substack importer.
  • Remove a subscriber: open a subscriber’s row menu and select Remove.
  • Bulk remove subscribers: select multiple subscribers using the checkboxes, then choose Remove subscribers from the bulk action menu at the bottom of the page.
  • Comp a subscription: open a subscriber’s row menu and select Comp a subscription to give them a paid plan for free, with an optional expiry date. Select Remove comp to undo this. Please note that this action only appears in the row menu for subscribers with a WordPress.com user ID (i.e. not email-only subscribers).
  • Search and filter: use the search field to find a subscriber by email, or click the “Add filter” button to narrow the list by subscription type or email subscription status.
  • Sort: select any column header to sort the list by that column.
  • Download as CSV: open the More options (⋮) menu in the page header and select Download as CSV to export your full subscriber list.
What each email subscription status means

The Email subscription column tells you whether Jetpack emails your new posts to a subscriber, and why it doesn’t when the answer is no. The same status appears in each subscriber’s details panel.

Each subscriber has one of these statuses:

  • Subscribed: Jetpack emails this person every new post.
  • Not subscribed: This person follows your site in the WordPress.com Reader and gets no emails from it.
  • Not confirmed: This person signed up but hasn’t clicked the link in their confirmation email. Jetpack holds their emails, and your subscriber total leaves them out until they confirm.
  • Bounced: Jetpack can’t deliver email to this address. Confirm the address is spelled correctly, or get a working address from the subscriber.
  • Emails paused: The subscriber turned off all emails from WordPress.com. You can’t switch them back on for the subscriber. Ask them to turn emails on again from their WordPress.com account.
  • Not sending: Jetpack stopped emailing this address for a reason other than a bounce or a pause, for example after the subscriber marked one of your emails as spam.

Point at a Bounced or Emails paused label, or move to it with the Tab key, and a tooltip explains the reason.

To list every subscriber who isn’t getting your emails, follow these steps:

  1. Click the “Add filter” button above the subscriber list.
  2. Select “Email subscription“.
  3. Select the “Not sending (any reason)” option.

The filtered list includes subscribers labeled Bounced, Emails paused, and Not sending. For more ways to fix delivery problems, see Troubleshooting Newsletter email delivery.
