TUNIS, October 8. /TASS/. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian plans to discuss prospects for energy cooperation, as well as trade, political and security issues, on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Turkmenistan on October 9.

"The trip is an excellent opportunity to engage with heads of state on environmental risks and how to manage them, as well as on multilateral relations and efforts to counter unilateral actions," Nour News quoted the president as saying.

"We will discuss prospects for energy cooperation, as well as various issues related to trade, culture, politics and security," he said.

On October 6, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said that the Iranian president had been invited to the CIS summit’s expanded-format meeting for the first time in the organization’s history. Pezeshkian will also take part in the environmental summit.
