Greetings Loyal Airmen, as ever we’ve a few neat things to talk about today, so let’s jump into them, shall we.

BROTHER BONES GRAPHIC NOVEL # 2

Artist Joe Arnold is hard at work finishing up the second chapter of the Brother Bones Origin Graphic Novel. As most of you Loyal Airmen know, Joe is doing the primary art on the main story which will run through all three issues, and the main color covers. Whereas each installment will have a special short Brother Bones tail at the back by a guest artist and that artist will provide the second alternate cover. So in this volume two, the back up story, “Party Girl” is being illustrated by Gabriel Retarte and Gabriel has provided our alternate cover as seen above. The Air Chief has one word for it, WOW!! Stay tuned Loyal Airmen, once completed, Joe will launch the Kickstarter Campaign and we will let all of you know when and where.

THE BLACK TERROR PART TWO

One of the many projects the Air Chief has been involved with in the past year was a new interpretation of the Golden Age hero, Black Terror. All of which got started with Ben Dunn at Antarctic Press did up that over the top illustration (top left) which he labelled Absolute Black Terror. He basically put it out there to see if anyone might want to follow this visual approach. Okay, so the Air Chief accepted the challenge and whipped up a team to bring Ben’s idea to graphic life. Helping us realize that were artists Dell Barras, colorist David Rios and letterer Oluwadmilola. (Upper middle) After months of back and forth, we had cobbled together a new origin story and introduced our new hero, scientist Calvin Hyland. Alas by the time we presented all this to Ben, Dell and David had moved on to other projects. Whereas Ben was excited about what we’d started, he personally recruited artist Alessio Nocerino of Italy to take on the art chores for what was now going to be done as a complete graphic novel. Happily, our Silverline Comics pal, Mickey Clausen joined as our new colorist, with Oluwadmilola sticking with the project. And that’s where we are at today. Thus far the Air Chief has written half of the novel, with two more installments to go. This looks to be tons of fun. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted for sure.
