Industry veteran Jamia Bigalow joined NBCUniversal as executive vice president of partner marketing in the media company’s platform distribution and partnerships group. She most recently headed up partner marketing for Amazon’s Fire TV.
Bigalow, whose first day at NBCU is Thursday (Oct. 1), reports to Matt Schnaars, president of NBCUniversal Platform Distribution & Partnerships. She is based out of NBCU’s West Coast headquarters in Universal City. In the role, Bigalow will work with on campaigns with streaming, broadcast and cable distribution partners in collaboration with NBCU’s internal marketing and growth teams.
In addition to Bigalow’s hiring, NBCU announced that Lindsay Vogelman has the new title of senior vice president, strategic partnerships and business development (previously it was SVP, strategic partnerships and partner growth). Vogelman will focus on new distribution opportunities and revenue streams across global partners, working with Gus O’Brien, president, international networks and direct-to-consumer for NBCUniversal Media Group.
“Jamia brings to NBCUniversal a rare combination of extensive marketing experience with top companies across streaming, broadcast and cable, which is very well aligned with the company’s media portfolio composition and continued focus on platform growth,” Schnaars said in a statement. “Our partner marketing team will play a significant role in the continued growth of NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, Bravo and NBCSN, along with our vast FAST channel portfolio, and Jamia is the perfect person to lead it given her experience, track record and leadership qualities. She has an impeccable reputation among the many executives across our industry who have worked as colleagues or partners.”
Bigalow most recently was at Amazon Fire TV as head of brand and integrated marketing, where she stood up the organization’s partner marketing function. Before joining Amazon in January 2021, she spent more than a decade at Fox Networks Group, leading distribution marketing across entertainment, news and sports properties.
Prior to joining Fox in 2005, Bigalow was director of affiliate marketing for the NFL Network as part of the launch team and worked in marketing roles at Disney and Starz. Bigalow graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
