Barry Manilow canceled his concert Tuesday slated to be held at the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. A post on the X page of the 83-year-old entertainer read, 'Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight's show in Lexington has been rescheduled.' The Grammy-winning singer, who underwent surgery for lung cancer late last year, had previously canceled a March 9 show at the venue amid his recovery from the procedure. The Rupp Arena said in a post on X that tickets for Tuesday's show will be honored following the announcement of a make-up show. The Brooklyn, New York-born vocalist was next slated to perform on Wednesday at the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Manilow for further comment on the story. Manilow last November had been diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer, after a trip to the doctor to address pain in his hip. He received the diagnosis after twice battling bronchitis, undergoing an MRI on his lungs and pelvis. 'If he hadn't done that, man ... he saved my life, because there's no symptoms for what I had,' Manilow told People this past March.

'I could go on, nothing hurt - but they found the dot in my lung. 'They called me and said, "Could be cancer." That's a bad word. 'Not me. [Expletive] you. I can't have cancer.' He added of the cancer, 'They don't even know how long I had this thing sitting on me. It could have been years. 'If it had gone any further, then I would be up [expletive]'s creek. It just so happened that it hadn't spread, and boy oh boy, I thought I might be dying.' Manilow said the events made him introspective about life, noting that 'you just don't even think about' how fragile it can be until moments as such.

He continued: 'And suddenly, you have lung cancer. But I'm still here. I'm not all here; there's part of me that isn't here - they took out a part of me, and now I've got to figure out, "What do I do?"' Manilow, who hailed his husband and manager Garry Kief for helping him stay upbeat amid the troubled time, said that the health crisis had made him 'take stock' of his life. 'This made me stop and think about: Have I done what I wanted to do, and have I made people happy?' he told the publication. 'Have I been a good friend?

'All of those cornball things that I've read for all of my life, I started to think about that, too. It really did stop me in my tracks.' He added, 'And the answers are yes. And as a matter of fact, there are more yeses than I ever thought.' Chatting with NPR in June - when he released his most recent album What A Time - Manilow updated fans on the progress he was making in his recovery from the surgery. 'They say it takes a year before you come back from something like that,' the veteran entertainer said. 'They promised me that they were very gentle and they didn't hurt my vocal cords. But I'm not so sure.'
