Are you a postgraduate student or early-career researcher with no or little experience in writing or co-writing a journal article (or would you like a refresher)? This introductory course will give you the basic information you need to plan, write, and publish your journal article, embedding reproducibility practices.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This course is suitable for postgraduate research students and early-career researchers with limited or no experience of academic writing. You might be early in your research planning or conduct with nothing yet to write. You might be planning your first article.

Those with some writing experience may also find the course useful as a refresher.

We will not discuss in any depth-specific issues with your own in-progress article. If you are working on an article, please consider also signing up for our hands-on session, “Writing your journal article: in-depth workshop”.

This course does not address thesis or transfer report writing. We have separate courses focusing on these documents.

This course is provided by Dr Jen de Beyer, a writing expert affiliated with the UK EQUATOR Centre.

It is now a requirement that you complete the three short questions in the survey you receive after attending the course.
