Let's do it. So, have you ever noticed just for every single one of us that you can genuinely actually love Jesus, you can have this massive desire to want to grow in God and in the things of God and find yourself on Sundays and pre-meetings and worship sessions, and you can even have this deep desire in your heart to want to be holy, to want to count for the Lord, have a genuine desire, but yet often when you look at your Christian life, the feeling seems something in line of shucks, is this it? Is that no debt? Is this now my Christian life? Or maybe when you look at your Christian life, you look at the people around you and you compare yourself and you're like, am I doing something wrong? Because it seems like when I look at those people worshiping or those people doing something, they're getting something right, and then there's me. And over the course of this last couple of years, when I started to follow the Lord about 13, 14 years ago, I've had the privilege of meeting a lot of type of Christians. And especially here in Stalambosh, I found myself that I have come to know the audience plus, minus sitting in front of me. The individual sitting in front of me is the audience that loves God, that wants to grow in God. You guys are like sponges for the things of the Spirit. And it's actually amazing to be around you, and even people visiting is like, whoa, that was quite refreshing. It was like, it's not what I'm used to, but it was nice. And what I found even in my own walk, as I continue in the things of God, there are certain emotions that start to grip my heart. I want to say these emotions over the years is not always comfortable emotions. It's not always gushy, gushy, lovey, lovey type of emotions, but it's certain emotions when I look at my spiritual condition, it's something like I feel guilty. I feel ashamed of my spiritual walk. The things that I thought I would be doing I'm not doing it and I feel guilty about it and then there's other things that I know I shouldn't do But I am doing it then I feel ashamed about it Is that sometimes how you feel about your walk with the Lord? Maybe if we continue down some certain emotions, we can feel maybe frustrated with my walk with God Like oh, it just feels this this more for me, but I'm not there Even the feeling of disappointment dissatisfied, burdened, maybe even tiring. Like how long do I need to keep this up? Couldn't I became a Christian at 50 because then I'm like halfway over the older 50 years old. I'm sorry. Let's say 70, 80. Then you're like almost at the check-out point. But now you became on this side of Christian and you're like should I keep this thing up for another 50 years? Then the feeling is like whoa. that's quite a long time. Maybe questions come in your heart. I'm not as mature as what I should be. I'm not as far as what I thought by this time in my Christian life I would have been. And this weird sensation comes over you in this realization like shucks. I'm stuck because you remember the golden days, the days when you just came to Christ. Sin fell off you, you listened to every preach and it just felt like that's for me. Every chapter, every verse you read, it just felt like it impacted your heart because it was so new, it was so great. Every worship session you found yourself in felt you had goosebumps on your goosebumps, just like glory. But maybe now you are in a space in your Christian walk that every sermon you've probably heard just from a different angle about 5 to 10 times and if you find yourself longer in Christianity maybe 15 to 20 times you know where that's gonna lead you know where that's gonna lead you know that scripture you know that chapter you know what comes next you know that song and maybe every now and then there's a new song but it's all the same your prayer life might feel like God is distant, dry, and your most common prayer before the Lord is God, where is the water? Where is the light? And there's something subtle that can happen in our heart. You can love Jesus in the beginning. You can want to grow in the things of God, genuinely desire, holiness, yet we can slowly turn our Christian walks and our Christianity into a project of fixing ourselves. Let's just that thing. But yeah, gangster. Only on weekends. But there was really a sense that those who have been forgiven much love much and I came to the Lord and I saw the things of God and I enjoyed church. I enjoyed church. I enjoyed people. I love the scripture. It impacted me. It really felt like the henry that was living in in that time of the of my life I crossed over into light and it just felt like sin and character I changed but I soon found a couple of years in that I started to become familiar I Started to see that the things that that I used to long for or love and run for feels difficult for me Maybe the best picture to describe my Christian walk back then is if this was my garden of my Christian life, I would take a bucket and I would run all the way to this side and get some life. I'm like ugh and I would run all the way to this side and I would go wet my garden and we're like oh two flowers and I'm like okay we need more and I would run back and I would do that over and over and over again and later on I'm like, I'm not that fit. How do I keep this upload? Have I felt that way? Like another community and another Sunday service. I just need to get myself there. And then this expectation of every day I need to have a quiet time and it's just too much. And then I started to see when I went to this side one more time and I looked down in the bucket, I just saw one word and the word was new. If I get a new sermon, maybe then my God like big crowns, she has many, many crowns, and I'm like maybe then there would be a sense that I can watch her quiet time like, oh, rub off on me, but for me it was leadership. And then I thought when I'm in leadership and then I started to lead a youth and then for two, three, four, five, six months it was awesome. And then I'm like, Chuck's, now it's done, I'm doing it. And then I thought maybe when I become a deacon, then I became a deacon, the youngest deacon and then I'm like, whoa, you know, that puffed me up. It kept me going for full months. It was like amazing. And then I'm like, okay, but maybe when I'm full time in ministry, then I got full time, and then maybe when I'm an elder, and then I became an elder, and I'm like, this is awesome, and I'm doing the things of God. I'm doing what God has called me. But just every time it falls short of that frustration kept building up. And then I thought, I have prophetic words over my life. life, one day Hinrei will be a lead elder. Can I be a bit vulnerable now? So I thought about it, like, if I one day lead a church, I would fulfill my call in God, and then at the age of 27, I started to lead this church, and I hit the early life crisis. I know this Middle life, medium, I don't know, medium to rare. I went early. Why? Why? Because I thought my existence was to fulfill my calling to one day be a lead elder. And now I'm a lead elder, and I lead a church, and I'm like, God, what am I gonna do of the next 50 years? Because I reach a peak too early. Like, what now? What's happening now? And all of a sudden, and maybe for some of us here today, that realization of cold weight realization hitting your face just like shucks I'm trying and I'm trying to fix myself Matthew 5 is 3 says the following here we go bless it all the poor in spirit for this is the kingdom of heaven poor in spirit means to acknowledge that you are absolutely bankrupt when it comes your spiritual walk. It's a neediness, it's an emptiness, it's a porness when it comes to your spiritual walk and when Jesus spoke to the people in front of him, he started off his awesome, most significant sermon on the Mount with this line, blessed, happy, are those that know they need God, for there is the Kingdom of Heaven.
