  • Jaguar Land Rover has revealed an issue with the powertrain control module.
  • The owner of an affected Range Rover Sport will need to get the PCM replaced.
  • This recall comes just weeks after a separate electrical recall impacting JLR models.

The owner of a single 2026 Range Rover Sport in the US is about to feel exceptionally lonely. In November, Jaguar Land Rover will notify them that their brand-new SUV is being recalled, and they’re the only one who’ll have to visit a dealer for a fix. Talk about bad luck.

The Range Rover Sport in question was built on February 16, 2026, and a supplier analysis of build records has revealed the circuit board in the powertrain control module (PCM) may be misaligned. To the uninitiated, that may not seem like a big deal, but JLR says it could lead to the engine stalling unexpectedly.

The NHTSA’s recall notice notes that the supplier, Bosch, uncovered a small number of modules that were out of whack. JLR quickly issued a Quarantine notice for vehicles assembled with these modules and for them to be fixed before delivery. JLR believes four vehicles were manufactured with the issue but had already been delivered at the time.

There’s no word on why only one vehicle is being recalled, not the four in the hands of customers. Regardless, the brand notes there have been no reports of incidents triggered by the fault, nor any injuries.

The owner of the sole Range Rover Sport in this recall will be alerted on November 20, 2026, and a local dealership will replace the entire powertrain control module free of charge.

All-Too-Familiar Issues

This isn’t the only electrical recall that Jaguar Land Rover has had to issue in recent weeks. Earlier this month, the British brand revealed that almost 24,000 vehicles in the United States with 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrains could experience a DCDC converter failure. This causes the 12-volt system to stop charging, and the engine will eventually shut off while impacted vehicles are being driven.

In that recall, SUVs needing repairs include the Land Rover Defender, Discovery, and Discovery Sport, as well as the Range Rover Velar, the full-sized Range Rover, and the Evoque. The recall also impacts Jaguar F-Pace and E-Pace models.
