BAKU, October 2. /TASS/. Russia’s latest high-speed Supercam S180 reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and the S350 unmanned system work in conjunction with each other, carrying out the full range of aerial reconnaissance missions in the special military operation, Unmanned Systems Group Spokeswoman Yekaterina Zgirovskaya told TASS at the ADEX 2026 International Defense Exhibition in Baku.

"The combined use of the Supercam S350 and S180 allows for optimal coverage of the entire spectrum of command tasks: autonomous monitoring in the rear and in controlled territories, as well as reconnaissance in the close tactical zone for live monitoring of fire damage," Zgirovskaya said.

She emphasized that the mass use of interceptor drones in the combat zone has altered the tactics for deploying unmanned aerial systems. Now, the effectiveness of aerial reconnaissance is achieved through the proper distribution of tasks among aircraft with different tactical and technical characteristics, depending on the area of operation and the nature of the threats.

Zgirovskaya noted that the Supercam S350 is ideal for detailed reconnaissance behind enemy lines at ranges of up to 150 km and for carrying out missions in the close tactical zone. The UAV remains the primary platform for autonomous surveying of territories, monitoring logistics routes and extended national borders, and surveying coastal areas – including the detection of uncrewed boats.

According to her, the new high-speed Supercam S180 reconnaissance drone is effective for aerial reconnaissance in areas of intense countermeasures. It features a high cruising speed, and thanks to its "afterburner" mode, it can accelerate and evade ramming attacks by interceptor drones. In addition, the drone has its own system for detecting and identifying approaching drones and is capable of operating autonomously without a global navigation satellite system.
