Kate Middleton was invited onto Travis Kelce's sister-in-law Kylie Kelce's podcast Not Gonna Lie last week
The Princess of Wales has received an apology from Travis Kelce's sister-in-law, Kylie, after addressing the royal as "Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge".
Kylie, who is married to Jason Kelce, apologised for her "mistake" after she extended an invitation for Kate to appear on her Not Gonna Lie podcast and was sent numerous comments alleging that it was the incorrect way to address the royal.
However, on the October 1 episode, Kylie apologised for the error, sharing that she was "unaware" it was "offensive", and clarifying that she would be calling her the "Princess of Wales" from now on.

Kylie said: "I didn’t know that. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly. I apologise for the mistake. I would like to refer to people in the most respectful way and how they feel respected.
"Princess Catherine, or the Princess of Wales, I apologise. I will get that sorted immediately, starting now."
Why do people still address the Princess of Wales as Kate? The Princess's formal title is Catherine, Princess of Wales, but she's still frequently called Kate Middleton. Prince William referred to his partner as "Kate" in their 2010 engagement interview, and the university nickname stuck for many years. Many websites, including HELLO!, still refer to her as "Kate Middleton" for SEO (search engine optimisation) reasons, as that's what many people still type into the search bar.
However, over the years, the Princess, born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, has introduced herself as Catherine to the public when out on engagements. These days, the Princess signs off her messages with a "C" for Catherine, rather than "K" for Kate, making her personal preference clear.

Last week, mother of four Kylie, who is NFL player Travis's sister-in-law, extended a podcast invitation to Kate, saying they have "a couple things in common".
Kylie told the royal: "Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids. I don’t know. We got a couple things in common."
She added: "We’d love to have you. No pressure. Please."

In July, Kate's husband, Prince William, made a surprise appearance on Jason and Travis's New Heights podcast.
William has a long-time connection with Travis's wife, pop superstar Taylor Swift, and even took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to her concert at Wembley in 2024.
