Operation Green Light (OGL) is back for its second iteration for 2026, beginning on October  5th through October 18th. OGL provides residents with an opportunity to resolve overdue court fines and fees while receiving relief from certain collection fees. OGL helps our community come back into compliance and restore their ability to legally drive. OGL is designed to support residents facing financial hardship while also promoting safer roads and greater compliance with court obligations throughout our community.

Collection Fee Relief: Florida law requires all Florida Clerk offices to send outstanding obligations, including parking, traffic, misdemeanor, and criminal fines and fees to collection agencies if they remain unpaid after a designated period. Once referred to collections, an additional 30% collection fee is added to each outstanding obligation.  During OGL, the 30% collection fee that collection agencies charge is waived, providing tangible savings for constituents.

My office and I are committed to assisting every resident with driver license suspensions.  We’ve established payment plans for traffic, misdemeanor, and criminal court fines and fees. Additionally, we have developed a free mobile application, Miami-Dade Clerk of  Court, available on both Apple and Android stores. Through this app, drivers can upload one driver’s license and up to three vehicle tags in the My Driver’s Vault tab. When a citation is received by our office from the issuing agency, whether parking or a Uniform Traffic  Citation (UTC), the app sends push notifications and reminders, helping residents take timely action to avoid license suspensions and additional fees.

We’ve also implemented a new tool to help our customers answer questions and navigate the court process, a feature titled Clerk Direct, which helps connect residents with the correct department to answer their questions.

From day one, I’ve remained committed to helping our residents with the expansion of technology and implementing payment plans to assist with costs. We’re here to help you get back on the road! Call our OGL voicemail anytime at (305)999-5363 – just leave your name, driver’s license number, court case(s) and email and a member of my team will get back to you.

Prefer email? Write us at OGL@miamiadeclerk.gov with your full name, driver’s license number and phone number. Or visit us online: www.miamidadeclerk.gov/clerk/OGL.page  for additional information.

Operation Green Light is more than just a program; it’s a fresh start. I am proud to share that my office is the only Clerk of the Court and Comptroller in the State of Florida to host two large-scale Operation Green Light events each year, reflecting my strong commitment to serving our community. By reducing financial burdens and helping residents clear driver’s license suspensions, OGL empowers individuals and families to move forward, maintain employment, and focus on their daily lives without the weight of prolonged driver’s license issues.
