JWST reveals water-ice clouds on a cold Jupiter-mass world

A team of astronomers led by Elisabeth Matthews at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) has found evidence for water-ice clouds on a Jupiter-like exoplanet called Epsilon Indi Ab, using the James Webb Space Telescope. The discovery reveals the limits of current atmospheric models and demonstrates observational methods relevant to the longer-term search for Earth-like planets.
