Rawhide-free treats have gained momentum among dog owners looking for more digestible chew options, and fish-based alternatives like cod skin are leading the trend. Unlike traditional rawhide, cod skin chews are a single-ingredient protein source that many dogs can break down more easily. Pawmate's chicken-duck wrapped cod skin sticks tap into this movement by combining the chewy texture dogs crave with novelty proteins that can appeal to picky eaters or dogs with common protein sensitivities.

The format is straightforward: cod skin sticks wrapped in layers of chicken and duck, creating a long-lasting chew that keeps dogs occupied. For owners tired of monitoring rawhide sessions or dealing with digestive concerns, these fish-based treats offer a low-risk alternative worth testing—especially at today's discount price.

These treats center on cod skin as the base chew, which provides a firm but pliable texture that doesn't splinter like some traditional chews. The chicken and duck wrapping adds flavor layers that many dogs find irresistible, turning a simple fish chew into a more complex treat experience.

One important consideration: like most fish-based dog products, these treats carry a noticeable fish odor. It's not overwhelming for most owners, but if you're sensitive to seafood smells or prefer your home to stay neutral, you'll want to store these in an airtight container. The upside? That same smell is exactly what makes many dogs go wild for them.

Comparable Pawmate cod skin products have earned a 4.8 out of 5 rating from 38 customer ratings, with 87% awarding five stars. The feedback pattern is clear: dogs love the taste, and owners appreciate having a rawhide alternative that keeps their pets engaged.
