Countdown's Rachel Riley shared an adorable picture of herself as a young child as she paid tribute to her late grandfather on Tuesday.

The presenter, 36, looked almost unrecognisable as she sat alongside her 'Zada' - an abbreviation of the Yiddish word for grandfather.

In a touching post on Instagram, the star gushed over her 'bonkers' family member on the 10th anniversary of his passing.

She expressed her sadness that the Strictly fan had never met her pro dance partner, Pasha Kovalev, nor their two children. 

Rachel's recognisable blonde locks bared some resemblance to her look now. They were styled into a short bob with a striking fringe.

The young tot looked straight into the camera with an unanimated expression as she wore a white and grey T-shirt.

Sharing the throwback snap with her followers, she penned: '10 years since we lost the most bonkers member of my family, my Zada. 

'He loved Strictly and was proud of his Ukrainian (then Russian) heritage, he would have loved Pasha and girls, I’ll always be sad he never got to meet them. 

'Gone but never forgotten.' 

It comes after Rachel cut a casual figure as she departed the Countdown studios in Manchester on Tuesday night. 

The star opted for a colour-popping fluffy pink coat as she wrapped up warm to make her way home.

She teamed her look with black leggings, a black jumper and co-ordinated white and pink trainers to match her coat.

She toted her belongings in a big grey duffel bag and tucked her hands into her pockets to keep the cold at bay.

Rachel added a black beanie hat to her look and styled her blonde tresses in loose waves as they fell past her shoulders.

She seemed in bright spirits as she offered smiles to the cameras. 

Though she's known for her speedy maths skills and co-presenting duties on Countdown, Rachel recently confessed that she urinates in the shower during a lie-detector challenge with husband Pasha Kovalev on new Channel 4 show Jon & Lucy's Odd Couples. 

The panel show is hosted by married comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont, and sees the pair pit two celebrity couples against each other, sending them to a retreat to choose who has the best relationship.

In the first episode, Rachel and Pasha are against Richard Herring and Catie Wilkins,  doing a variety of challenges that could cause arguments including the lie-detector test.

During the lie-detector test, Rachel made her confession when Pasha asks if she urinates in the shower and she replies 'yes I do', laughing. 

Back in the studio, host Lucy asked Pasha if he minded his wife 'p******' in the shower and he replied, laughing: 'Not at all! It's fun!' 

Also in the show, the couples tackled an impossibly dirty bathroom and had a nightmare makeover.

During the episode, Rachel revealed a series of embarrassing photos that she has of Pasha that she has taken when he has fallen asleep in 'random places.' 

One such image shows Pasha asleep on a sofa naked, with only a cushion hiding his modesty. 

Jon explained that the idea behind the show is to put celebrity couples into tense situations.

These include packing for a holiday, filling the dishwasher and snoring, all situations which are relatable. 

He added that the show shows the more real side to relationships, as the pairings get into squabbles.

Jon and Lucy, who have been married since 2015, are taking on their second co-presenting gig doing the series.

They previously hosted 'Jon and Lucy's Party of the Year' on Channel 4, eating, drinking and having fun with other celebs.
