Earth Shed Workshop: How to Build from the Ground Up

Join us to make Earth Shed.
Part workshop and part collective construction, this hands-on event invites you to learn to ram earth, and make blocks that will become part of the installation Earth Shed, opening at the Princeton University School of Architecture on October 1.
Designed and organized by Professor Erin Besler, Earth Shed is an installation and distributed building practice made from soil sourced from the project site. Rather than arriving as a finished object, the installation takes shape over time, through a series of workshops and through the hands of many and a shared process of mixing, ramming, carrying, assembling, and demonstrating.
No previous building experience is necessary. Come learn a technique, lend a hand, or stay for the afternoon. Food and drinks will be provided.
