Cardi B recently set the record straight about claims that she had dissolved her butt injections. 

Per PEOPLE, the Grammy-winning rapper was injected with biopolymers when she was 21. Per South Floida Plastic Surgery, biopolymers “refer to foreign, non-medical-grade substances that are injected into the body (most commonly into the buttocks, hips, or thighs) to create a fuller or more contoured look.”

Biopolymers are not approved by the FDA, and people can suffer severe complications from receiving those injections. 

Cardi, 33, took to Instagram Live to address the topic about how she looked. She stated that the “injections” were reduced during the last surgery that she had in January 2024. 

“A lot of y’all keep telling me to go get my ass reduced,” Cardi said. “I don’t need to go get my ass reduced, news flash, I did get my ass reduced.”

The I LIke It rapper also said that she “can’t just go and lipo my butt because my skin is like kinda loose.” “That’s why my ass shakes so much,” she explained.

Per the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, liposuction, which is also known as lipoplasty, is a “surgical procedure that involves the removal of excess fat from specific areas of the body.”

It adds: “The procedure is typically used to contour the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks and other areas where diet and exercise alone have not been successful. Liposuction is a popular cosmetic surgery procedure that can help people achieve a slimmer and more proportional body shape.”

Cardi explained that her “ass could drop” if she “just go and get a lipo reduction, that is the easy way.”

“So I would have to cut myself. And I’m not cutting myself. I’m not sitting down for four months. I’m outside, like I said. I like my body how it looks right now. I’m comfortable in my skin,” she added.

“I’m very, very honest,” she said in reference to being sincere. “First of all, I got two lipos and one ass reduction.”

Cardi said having a “small” frame made her decide to decrease the injections.

“First thing first, I am a small girl,” the 33-year-old said, per PEOPLE. “I’m a very small, petite girl. My mom is petite. My sister’s petite. My aunts are small.” 

Cardi subsequently went after the people making negative comments about her body. 

“Y’all acting like y’all new to this,” she added. “Y’all been seeing my body for how many years now? Too many.”

Cardi said her diet, lifestyle, and having balanced meals were the reasons behind her staying in shape.

“Oh ‘You look super super snatched.’ Yes, b*tch, just stop hating,” she said. “I’ll tell you what I do so I could look snatched.”

Cardi revealed that her diet includes grilled chicken, grilled salmon, and fiber beverages. She also urged her fans to refrain from starving themselves in an effort to lose weight or have a better appearance. 

“That’s what I do. I’m being as honest as possible,” she said. “[Anytime] someone’s talking about oh, I look good, y’all say I’m doing surgery.”

“So shut the f— up; it just gives straight hater,” Cardi added. “Hating ass b*tches. Enjoy your life. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your everything.”
