Not sure what's up, but some things you can do to investigate:

Upgrade to 135.0.5973.153 to see if that makes a difference.

What does Opera show at the top of the page at the URL opera://gpu for what's hardware-accelerated or not? Video decode, Video encode and compositing for example should be accelerated.

Also, make sure RGX is off at the URL opera://settings/lucidMode.

Make sure the battery saver is off at the URL opera://settings/batterySaver, just for good measure, even if you're not on battery.

Make sure graphics acceleration is on at the URL opera://settings/system.

Not on macOS to know if Opera GX has any limiters, but if it does, make sure you're not using any limiters in the GX Control sidebar panel.

Completely disable Opera's adblocking and tracking protection at the URL ```opera://settings/privacyProtection".

Test with no mods installed at the URL opera://configure/mods/manage and no extensions installed at the URL opera://extensions to test if there's any difference.

Right-click the GX Corner tab and choose "move to sidebar" to test if that makes a difference.

As a test, disable, sounds, keyboard sounds, background music, shaders and web modding at the URLs opera://settings/sounds, opera://settings/keyboard_sounds, opera://settings/background_music, opera://settings/shaders and opera://settings/web_modding to see if that makes a difference.

Also, if you have a video wallpaper, test with just a static wallpaper to see if that makes a difference.

Also, if you have more than one monitor and Opera is on the second one, test if there's any difference if it's on the first.
