New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani left residents confused after making a bizarre, cryptic tweet while his city prepares for a massive storm. 

On Friday afternoon, the Democratic Socialist tweeted '114' on his personal X account with no explanation. 

Many New Yorkers were confused by the number and its meaning, with one simply asking: 'Context?' 

Mamdani's cryptic tweet was his reaction to Manchester City, a soccer team, being found guilty of the Premier League's charges. The number Mamdani tweeted referred to the number of breaches the team was found guilty of. 

The club initially faced 115 charges. 

Mamdani has been an outspoken fan of the Arsenal team. 

His tweet came in the middle of his administration preparing for a massive nor'easter storm that's expected to drench the Big Apple over the weekend, with city agencies already moving toward flood prevention methods. 

Mamdani's public focus on a sports team confused some residents, who are preparing for wind gusts up to 50mph, up to three inches of rain, and coastal flooding. 

Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm, while Mamdani issued a travel advisory. 

'The forecast path of this storm has moved closer to our city, and it is bringing more rain and stronger winds with it,' Mamdani said in a Friday statement. 'If you’re traveling this weekend, give yourself extra time, check your train, ferry or flight before you head out and stay off low-lying coastal roads around high tide. 

'If you live in a basement apartment, know your way out and be ready to move to a higher floor if conditions become dangerous. Look out for your neighbors.' 

Rain began Friday evening and is expected to be the heaviest on Saturday. 

Localized rainfall could reach up to five inches where heavier rain repeatedly moves over the same area, Mamdani's administration said. 

The storm is already causing chaos in the Big Apple, as major airlines have already begun issuing bleak notices to travelers. 

Millions across the Northeast from North Carolina to Maine will likely see their travel disrupted by the dangerous conditions caused by the nor'easter.

American Airlines issued a travel alert for severe weather in the Northeast, extending passengers the chance to rebook at no extra cost if they were flying to, through, or from 16 different airports in the region.

That included the three New York area airports in JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, as well as other destinations from Maryland to Virginia.

JetBlue also said it was offering a fee waiver as a result of the raging nor'easter for flights from Friday through Sunday. Their offer covered flights from 11 airports in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island.

Delta said that travel in the northeastern US could be affected due to the weather, while specifically noting the 'severe' conditions in Boston.

United Airlines also issued an advisory covering the 10 airports across Nantucket, Hartford, Boston, Newark, New York, Manchester, Philadelphia, Providence and Portland.

Lastly, Southwest published a travel advisory for seven airports as the dangerous storm continued setting in.
