In August, domestic air passenger traffic decreased by 6.34% compared to the previous year, reaching 12.12 million. For the first eight months of 2026, passenger traffic totaled 110.53 million, slightly lower than 110.72 million last year. Economic concerns regarding the West Asian conflict may affect future traffic growth and profitability. Elevated fuel prices and airspace restrictions could pose significant challenges for the aviation sector.

August domestic air passenger traffic fell 6.34% from a year earlier to 12.12 million, according to DGCA data. Passenger traffic for the first eight months of 2026 stood at 110.53 million, marginally below the 110.72 million recorded in the same period last year.
