Described as “an idea machine for musicians”, the latest addition to Polyend’s growing collection of guitar pedals combines four independent loop tracks with a built-in four-track drum machine and over 100 onboard effects. 

Simply named the Loop, the new arrival has been designed for guitarists, songwriters and electronic musicians alike, and will happily accept instrument and line-level sources as well as dynamic microphones. It features four loop tracks with Forward, Reverse and Ping-Pong playback modes, a drum track then provides over 350 rhythm patterns, more than 500 drum kits and over 180 audio loops — everything can be programmed directly from the hardware, and users can capture their own samples from the pedal’s inputs or import them from a microSD card. There’s also a Varispeed function that allow a loop’s speed and pitch to follow tempo changes while leaving the pitch of the drum tracks unaffected. 

Each of the loop tracks can be routed to one independently selected effect, and there are over 100 to choose from, covering everything from reverbs and delays to modulation, distortion and filters. The pedal allows users to store up to 1000 scenes, and it’s possible to export the loop tracks as individual WAV files for mixing in a DAW.
