NEW DELHI, September 25. /TASS/. A special unit to support Russian business will be created in the northern Indian State of Uttar Pradesh, Russian Trade Representative in India Andrey Sobolev told TASS in conclusion of the participation of the Russian business mission in the UP International Trade Show (UPITS 2026).

"Russian participation in this event went beyond the framework of the presentation format," the trade representative said. "A meeting took place with Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, where we substantively discussed prospects of cooperation in pharmacy, semiconductors, agribusiness, textile, tourism and mechanical engineering. These are the lines where competences of Russian companies and needs of the state coincide objectively," he noted.

"I would like to particularly note that UP Invest (official agency of the Government of Uttar Pradesh on investments and encouragement of investment business – TASS) announced creation of the Russian Desk – a specialized unit to support Russian business in the state. This is a message: Uttar Pradesh is ready to work with us systemically and for the long term," Sobolev added.
