FFXIV will get content from another Final Fantasy game again thanks to a rerun of the FFXV crossover. Square Enix announced that will kick off next week on September 24, 2026. This run of A Nocturne for Heroes is identical to the event that first debuted back in April 2019, so there’s nothing new if you already met Noctis Lucis Caelum. However, this does mark the first time the event appeared since the launch of the Switch 2 release. 

As usual, the requirements for the questline that begins with “The Man in Black” are a bit high compared to some of these crossovers or special events. You must get your character to level 50 and have finished the A Realm Reborn main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon.” If you have, then Kipih Jakkya will be at Ul’dah, Steps of Nald at X:8.5, Y:9.7. This starts a three-quest storyline that results in someone getting the Regalia Type-G mount and the Lucian Prince’s armor set that features boots, bottoms, a fingerless glove, and a jacket. Someone can also unlock Noctis’ Lucian Locks Modern Aesthetics hairstyle for finishing it.

This marks the fourth time we’ve seen this FFXV crossover quest in FFXIV. Following the 2019 debut, it returned in 2021 and 2024 as well. This also means that this time every single platform the game is on will get a chance to go over it again.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Final Fantasy XV is on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC via the standard version and Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices via the Pocket Edition. The FFXIV FFXV crossover event returns between September 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026.
