Netflix viewers responded lukewarm to the latest addition in Ryan Murphy‘s cinematic universe of infamous killers last week. Meanwhile, the streamer seems to have found the right audience for its latest YA offering.

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story debuted atop the English TV list for the week of September 14 to 20, raking in 12.1 million views through its first four days of availability, which appears on par with last season’s premiere weekend for The Ed Gein Story. But, significantly, the third season hit Netflix on a Friday, giving it one less day than The Lizzie Borden Story to amass that viewership.

It’s truly on par with Season 2’s The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story opening week performance, because that title was released on a Thursday and had four days to hit 12.3 million views.

With that in mind, it’s difficult to gauge the overall appetite for this series as it continues, though the latest suggests that it is at least waning, which is in line with the streamer’s well-documented problem retaining its audience on many of its biggest continuing series.

It appears the No. 2 title on the English TV list has found its audience after a modest opening earlier this month. Crew Girl sprinted to 11.3 million views in its second week on the platform, more than doubling its viewership from its opening weekend. The streamer also renewed the frothy, coming-of-age teen drama about a 16-year-old girl who becomes the coxswain of an elite private school’s all-male rowing team.

The Gentlemen once again claimed two spots on the TV rankings. Season 2 retained its third place spot with 6 million views, while Season 1 came in at No. 5 with 3.4 million views.

It’s a sleepier week in film, with Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? leading the pack on the English film list with 9.7 million views. The Whisper Man came in at No. 2 with 6.2 million.
