Newly released security footage shows the moment Eric Swalwell is confronted by several FBI agents as they execute a search warrant on the disgraced ex-Congressman.

Swalwell, 45, surrendered electronic devices, including his cell phone, as part of a federal criminal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct, which he has denied.

In surveillance footage from San Francisco Airport on August 15, two days after the FBI filed for a warrant, Swalwell is seen attempting to blend in by wearing a baseball cap, hoodie and sneakers. 

The former candidate for governor of California is also dragging along a rollbag and wearing a backpack.  

Multiple agents soon surround him at the gate for his departing flight, with Swalwell appearing to acquiesce to their questions. 

Shortly after, Swalwell heads up an escalator before reaching a hallway that shows a sign labeling it a 'restricted area' before walking into a room, still surrounded. 

The clip at no point shows the former Congressman being put under arrest. 

The Daily Mail has reached out to an attorney for Swalwell for comment.

Swalwell's MacBook Pro, charging cable, and wall charger were also seized during the search, which was conducted at 8.25pm, according to a warrant obtained by The San Francisco Standard.

The search warrant was filed on August 13 under a federal statute (Section 242 of Title 18) which prohibits officials, including law enforcement, from abusing their authority to deprive someone of their constitutional rights - though it is unclear how the law applies to Swalwell's case. 

The agents, armed with additional court-approved search warrants, then entered his house in Washington, DC, seizing additional undisclosed potential evidence, well-placed sources tell the Daily Mail.

Sources say the former representative started his day on August 15 in Washington, where he still maintains a residence with his wife and three children.

He headed to the airport later in the day and flew to his home state of California. The feds were waiting for him when he stepped off the plane.

According to sources, Swalwell was cooperative.

The following day, neither he nor his wife, Brittany Watts, was home when the feds rolled up to their property in Northeast DC.

Swalwell faces multiple sexual assault allegations.

At least four women have made sexual misconduct allegations, including a former staffer who claimed the married politician raped her twice when she was too intoxicated to consent in 2019 and 2024.

Another woman alleged he drugged and raped her in 2018.

Two of the women said he had sent them unsolicited pictures of his penis.

The Department of Justice launched its investigation into the disgraced former congressman in April.

Swalwell was also being investigated by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Swalwell has vehemently denied the allegation, but they nevertheless torpedoed his campaign for California governor, forcing him to drop out of a race he'd once led. 

The Democrat also promptly resigned in disgrace from Congress.

He has kept a low profile ever since, including when newly declassified records were released about his escapades with the Chinese spy known as 'Fang Fang.'

The White House Transparency Task Force dropped the documents, in which Swalwell admitted to the FBI that he 'occasionally hooked up' with Fang.

The Chinese national spent years cozying up to rising California Democrats, helping bundle donations for Swalwell's 2014 re-election campaign and even placing an intern in his congressional office.

Swalwell has not been accused by law enforcement of any wrongdoing in the Fang Fang scandal.

Meanwhile, he has denied any wrongdoing in connection with the sexual assault and sexual misconduct allegations. 

While rejecting the claims, the former lawmaker acknowledged making 'mistakes in judgment' and apologized to his wife.

While the accusations destroyed his political career and prompted calls for further investigations from both parties, the state of his nine-year-marriage remains in question.

Exclusive Daily Mail photos from May showed Watts, 41, stepping out of their DC residence without her wedding ring as her husband remained out of sight.

'Eric has been accused of horrible things. How do you live with that?' a friend of the family said at the time.

The allegations began with claims from a former staffer who alleged she was raped by Swalwell when she was too intoxicated to consent.

She told CNN that in April 2024, after a night of heavy drinking in New York City, she woke up to Swalwell having sex with her in his hotel bed.

'I was pushing him off of me, saying no,' she said, adding that it happened after she stopped working in his office. 'He didn't stop.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to Eric Swalwell. The Department of Justice and the FBI declined to comment.
