Angela Paxton, the ex-wife of Texas Attorney General and Republican US Senate nominee Ken Paxton who divorced him on 'biblical grounds' last year, has broken her silence.

Speaking to a meeting of Republican women in the Lone Star state, Angela, herself a Texas State Senator, urged over 100 board members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women to vote for the party, over the individual on the ballot.

In a speech called 'The Elephant in the Room' which was posted to Facebook by a local activist, Angela urged the conservative women to vote for Republicans, including her ex-husband, 'even if we're mad at them.'

In the video, first reported on by the Texas Tribune, Angela stated: 'It's not the people — it's the seat.'

'We have more control over that seat and the future when we control the seat — when it's still in the family, even if we're mad at them,' Angela stated in her speech.

'If we lose it to the other team, the nuances that we want to fix with maybe a certain candidate are nothing compared to what it's going to take to get it back, right?' she continued.

The remarks to the meeting of Republican women were the first time Angela waded into the tight US Senate race between her ex-husband and Democrat James Talarico.

The activist who posted the video of Angela's speech noted, that she 'NEVER mentioned his [Ken's] name — not even once, but encouraged the women to vote for EVERYONE on 'OUR R TEAM!'

Talarico, a current Texas state legislator, is polling slightly ahead of Ken Paxton in the race for US Senate.

A poll from ReconMR and the Siena Research Institute released last week showed Talarico to be up six points, 49 percent to Paxton's 43 percent.

Angela filed for their divorce in the summer of 2025 on 'biblical grounds after multiple infidelities came to light. 

Ken was impeached in 2023 over claims he hired a woman he'd had an affair with.

As a state senator, Angela sat through the impeachment proceedings while Katherine Cary, Ken Paxton's former chief of staff, warned his affair could bring political and legal risks to the table.

Although she attended her then-husband's trial, Angela did not vote on the outcome. He was acquitted by the Texas Senate.

In a statement issued after Angela filed for divorce last year, Ken noted, that 'after facing the pressures of countless political attacks and public scrutiny, Angela and I have decided to start a new chapter in our lives.'

The candidate has been recently spotted with his mistress Tracy Duhon, and the pair even took a trip to the UK over the July 4th holiday, which the Daily Mail exclusively caught wind of. 

Duhon, a mom of seven, businesswoman and Christian influencer started a romance with Paxton after they met at the Kentucky Derby in 2024, multiple sources revealed to the Daily Mail.

The lovers have had multiple rendezvous on trips across the country and overseas.

Duhon also bought a $2 million mansion in Frisco, an exclusive Dallas suburb, where she and Ken have been living since Valentine's Day, the Daily Mail first revealed in May. 

Despite a slew of news stories that have come from Ken's affair, Talarico has not blasted him for his personal misconduct on the campaign trail.  

Talarico has generally framed Ken Paxton as untrustworthy but refrained from attacking his family values and faith directly.
