An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson said the critically injured man required resuscitation while being transported to hospital following the incident, which was reported at about 5:40 p.m. on Sept. 22.
Both injured men were in or around the business, the spokesperson added, but nobody in the SUV was injured.

The incident led to the closure of McArthur Avenue to both vehicles and pedestrians in both directions between Olmstead Street in the east and Cyr Avenue in the west.
In mid-evening, more than a half-dozen emergency services vehicles remained at the scene. A red SUV rested in the westbound lane of McArthur, stationed perpendicular to the two-storey building with main-level signage for a barber salon.
Nearby, a silver-grey passenger vehicle was also parked in front of the building.
The front entrance area of the structure appeared to be severely caved in from the blow it received from the SUV.
