A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash.

It happened on Spawd Bone Lane, Knottingley, just after 6.30pm yesterday (Monday September 21).

The man, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital after a crash with a car.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a car on Spawd Bone Lane, Knottingley, shortly before 6.40pm.

“A male motorcyclist aged in his 20s suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened."
