Multinational luxury hospitality company Aman Group is heading to South Korea for the first time.

Announced Sept. 2, Aman Seoul will sit in the Cheongdam district of Gangnam, overlooking the Han River, and will combine a hotel, a limited collection of branded residences and a global Aman Club under one roof. The company is developing the project with Shinsegae Property, the asset management and development arm of Shinsegae Group.

“Aman Seoul represents our conviction in the city’s future and our desire to build a permanent home for the Aman lifestyle within it,” said Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group, in a statement.

“We are creating an urban sanctuary where Aman loyalists can engage with the energy of Seoul while remaining immersed in the qualities that define Aman.”

Three entrances, one address
The hotel, the residences and the club each get their own entrance and arrival sequence, a layout meant to keep the three uses separate. Spa and wellness facilities run across multiple floors, and the Aman Club carries a pool, fitness facilities and social spaces for residence owners and members.

Architecture and interiors were developed with partners and craftspeople working in Korean traditions, with suites and public areas drawing on Korean spatial ideas and materials. Inside the residences, Aman Interiors is supplying bespoke furnishings and curated interior elements.

The project follows a strategic partnership between Shinsegae Group and OKO Group, the U.S. real estate developer founded by Mr. Doronin.

“Aman Seoul represents far more than a hotel development; it will set a new benchmark for luxury living in Seoul,” said Chung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group, in a statement.

Seoul joins a run of urban properties that includes Aman Tokyo, Aman New York and Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, with Aman Beverly Hills, Aman Miami Beach, Aman Dubai and Aman Singapore in the pipeline. The company did not give an opening date.
