MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. Establishing a unified framework for "cognitive sovereignty" requires joint efforts to counter those who deliberately weaponize falsehoods, Andrey Kondrashov, Director General of TASS and President of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), said at the Dialogue on Fakes 4.0 forum.

"To achieve this, we need common verification standards, the sharing of technologies and methodologies, educational programs for journalists, and unified approaches to labeling AI-generated content," he said.

Kondrashov said TASS was working to build an international information security system spanning the region from the CIS to Africa and Asia. He added that, as part of its OANA presidency, the agency was implementing a program to share expertise and best practices in combating fake news.

"We invite everyone who shares our values to collaborate. Together, we can transform fragmented projects into a unified system for protecting the truth," he concluded.

The Dialogue about Fakes 4.0 forum is a global platform for discussing methods to combat disinformation and develop fact-checking technologies. The event is taking place at the Russia National Center with the participation of over 2,000 journalists, experts and businesspeople from 80 countries. It is organized by the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN), established in 2025 by the TASS news agency, the autonomous nonprofit organization "Dialogue Regions," and the New Media Workshop. TASS is the forum’s strategic media partner.
