INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The return of Las Vegas Raiders star Brock Bowers will have to wait another week.

But a pregame workout did provide some optimism.

“(He’s) close,” coach Klint Kubiak said. “Very close. He looks great.”

Bowers went through a workout on the field at SoFi Stadium about three hours before kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers, but was ruled inactive for a game the Raiders won, 26-14.

He underwent a meniscus trim less than two weeks ago and returned to practice in a limited capacity Friday, but was listed as doubtful for the game.

Bowers went through stretching before running some routes Sunday morning on the field under the watchful eyes of general manager John Spytek, tight end coach Luke Steckel, assistant head coach Mike McCoy, offensive coordinator Andrew Janocko and wellness coordinator Alex Guerrero, among others.

The Raiders play at New Orleans next week, and there is optimism he will be able to return after missing just two games.

There was no further update on rookie safety Treydan Stukes, who left Sunday’s game with a concussion after playing every defensive snap in his debut last week.

Isaiah Pola-Mao has replaced him in the lineup and slot corner Taron Johnson also lined up at safety.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean and running back Ashton Jeanty both left the game with minor injuries, but both were able to return.

“I’m feeling good,” Jeanty said.

Quarterback Aidan O’Connell was not with the team for personal reasons. The team has provided no update on a possible return.

Starting cornerback Darien Porter missed the game with a foot injury. Rookies Hezekiah Masses started in his place and recorded two interceptions. Jermod McCoy also saw some time at corner.
