The West Bank town of Turmus Ayya has been plagued by settler violence since 2020. More than 80 percent of residents are Americans who feel abandoned – despite Ambassador Mike Huckabee's recent visit

Samir Juma'a Hazmeh's four-story house in Turmus Ayya overlooks the fields that surround the town. From his balcony, we can see some of the town's 18,000 dunams of land (roughly 4,500 acres). The land is lush, perfect for growing olives, figs and citrus. The August heat ripens the olives, just before harvest season.
