The confession came out after Christina Clemens, 46, called the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on her own son. Shane Clemens, 22, had allegedly battered her in a domestic violence incident, and deputies arrested him for hitting his mother.

That’s when Shane told them he’d been having sex with his mother since he was 18. Asked to repeat it, he said the same thing again.

Deputies then went to Christina, who confirmed it and put a number on it: about 100 times. A detective was brought in and the case was built out from there.

Christina’s husband told investigators he had no idea, though he said he’d grown suspicious that the two would go into the master bedroom and lock the door. He said the couple were happily married and living together.

Both were charged with incest. Christina was also charged with adultery, a law still on the books in Florida.
