Relive Daily Mail Sport's live coverage as Manchester United draw at Everton in the Premier League.

A busy few weeks for Manchester United

It's going to be a busy period for Manchester United, with FOUR games crammed into the next two weeks ahead of the international break.

Up next:

  • Thursday, September 10: Man United v Sabah (CL)
  • Sunday, September 13: Man United v Man City (PL)
  • Wednesday, September 16: Man United v Brighton (EFL Cup)
  • Sunday, September 20: Fulham v Man United (PL)

Michael Carrick will be hoping that his side have learnt some valuable lessons from these past few games, as he won't have much time for tactics in the next block. The games really are coming thick and fast.

Anyway, that's me done for the afternoon. Please feel free to check out our live coverage of Arsenal v Chelsea here.

Have a good one!

Ian Ladyman: 'At the moment the good stuff is in danger of being buried beneath bad habits'

Ian Ladyman, Daily Mail Sport's Football Editor, at Hill Dickinson Stadium:

It all carried something of an England-Argentina vibe and for Carrick it represents a problem. This season will be a darned sight harder the last one. It will test his squad in every way. This week, for example, United must play in the Champions League on Thursday before hosting Manchester City three days later. Ouch.

Carrick will need his team to show more resolve than this. He will need to see a greater killer instinct. He will need to see his captain Bruno Fernandes jumping to his feet when tickled by James Tarkowski rather than lying down as though sniper shot.

At the moment the good stuff - and there is a fair amount of it - is in danger of being buried beneath bad habits. After three games - two against promoted clubs - United are in the bottom half and that should serve as warning if nothing else.

Nathan Salt: 'There's a sense of shock in United's ranks'

Nathan Salt, Daily Mail Sport's Manchester United reporter, at Hill Dickinson Stadium:

There's a sense of shock in United’s ranks as they file onto the bus now. Matheus Cunha has stopped to speak to a Brazilian broadcaster but everyone else is heading through with their heads bowed. Probably still in shock at how that near-certain win got away from them.
David Moyes: 'Behind the screens we're bartering away at the players to keep playing well'

David Moyes, Everton manager, talking to Sky Sports about Tyrique George's performance:

I still believe he's a young player. As a lot of people know as a young wide player coming in, there'll be days when it'll be good for him, there'll be other days. I thought today he was a problem for them at different times. Obviously his finish was very good for us when we needed it. So he'll get better, he'll get more game time, he'll play more Premier League games and hopefully he'll continue to improve.

On Ainsley Maitland-Niles's impact:

The main feeling was that we didn't know enough about him since we've had him in, so we haven't had much chance to get to know him, understand him. We were going to keep Jimmy (Garner) at right back, but he cramped up just as we made a change which caused us a problem regarding the subs. But it was a brilliant goal, great finish, really was brilliantly struck, and so pleased for him. It's a good start for him and it will help him with the crowd and get settled in as well.

On if this result shows that the ambitions of the club is still high:

I don't know if we're talking about what our ambitions are at the moment but behind the screens we're bartering away at the players to keep playing well and performing well and they certainly did. They've got a great hunger about them and hopefully we can keep it going. We'll wait and see but we'd have liked three points today. I was desperate to win it but in the end I was happy with a draw because it looked like we weren't going to get anything.

Benjamin Sesko: 'It's important what you learn from (these games)'

Benjamin Sesko, Manchester United striker, to Sky Sports:

I would just say that we were just a little bit, let's say a lot, unlucky. It's just the games that happens sometimes you know, and it's important how you face that, what you learnt from it and trying to get better the next match.

Deja vu for Manchester United

It has been far from a perfect start to the season for Manchester United.

And this stat from Opta seems to sum it up really.

The first three games of the 2020-21 season, by the way, were against Crystal Palace (lost 1-3), Brighton (won 3-2), and Tottenham (lost 1-6), under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Premier League table as it stands

And so Manchester United remain in the bottom half of the table. There was so much talk about how 'easy' their opening three games were - but they've clearly failed to capitalise.

I don't reckon there's such thing as an 'easy' Premier League game these days. All you need to do is look at where Hull City are to prove that!

Chris Wheeler: 'United will be kicking themselves'

Chris Wheeler, Daily Mail Sport's Manchester United reporter, at Hill Dickinson Stadium:

Jubilant scenes at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after that dramatic late equaliser from Ainsley Maitland-Niles. It’s been a determined display from David Moyes’s side and you have to say they were good value for a point. However, United will be kicking themselves that they didn’t see this one out after leading twice.

Maitland-Niles: 'We fought until the death'

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Everton right back, to Sky Sports:

It felt like a win. We dug deep and managed to get a point in the end. We fought until the death, and that's what happens.

On his goal:

It's amazing. Everyone wants to start off like that. The ball fell for me right on the edge of the box and I put it into the top corner.

On joining the club:

I came in to work hard and it's a team full of hard workers so I fit right in. I can show that I'll pull my weight and give as much as everyone else, if not a tiny bit more.

WATCH: Ainsley Maitland-Niles' wonderful last-minute strike

Let's watch that back.

FULL TIME: Everton 2-2 Manchester United

And that's that.

It certainly took a while for that game to get going. Despite Bryan Mbeumo's opener, that match didn't set alight until the final 10 minutes or so.

Jack Grealish's introduction seemed to really shake things up.

Benjamin Sesko thought he'd scored the winner, but then Ainsley Maitland-Niles made sure it would be his name in tomorrow's headlines instead. Sensational stuff.

Wow, wow, wow. What a finish.

That is a beautiful goal from Ainsley Maitland-Niles on his Everton debut.

Senne Lammens is rooted as he watches the ball bend into the top left corner. Wow.
