Adam Scott is back for more Big Little Lies.

On Tuesday, the 44-year-old actor confirmed via Twitter that he would be returning for season two of the critically-acclaimed show.

The HBO series recently nabbed several Emmy and Golden Globe Awards including wins for Outstanding Limited Series and Best Miniseries or Television Film. 

Scott will reprise his role as Ed Mackenzie, the husband of Reese Witherspoon's character, Madeline Martha Mackenzie. 

The actor took to Twitter to re-tweet a post by Variety, in which the publication detailed his return to the show.

He quoted the tweet and wrote: 'Very flattered and excited to be back on this great show. Hoping it will catch on.'

In December, Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman announced the return of HBO's hit show for a second season.

The drama - an adaptation of Liane Moriarty's novel by the same name - has been one of the most talked-about series of the year, bagging eight Emmy Awards and a score of awards season nominations.

The duo, who executive produced the show, will once again be joined by creator and writer David E. Kelley, but will welcome a new director in the form of Academy Award winner Andrea Arnold. 

Shortly after the announcement of the second season, Kidman told Variety: 'This is inspired by the overwhelming response by audiences around the world, conceived once again by Liane Moriarty, realized by David Kelley and now in the hands of visionary filmmaker Andrea Arnold.

'What a journey this has been. I'm so grateful to have this opportunity to keep exploring these female characters and make this series with my friends.'

Witherspoon added: 'I'm thrilled to be bringing back this talented team of artists. It gives us the opportunity to delve deeper into the lives of these intriguing and intricate Monterey families and bring more of their stories back to the audience who embraced and championed them.'
