Anna Johnston was set to graduate medical school when her grandfather was diagnosed with dementia. She changed course -- taking a job as social support coordinator in his nursing home.

This experience has driven the stories she chooses to tell. Her first book, The Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife, is a about a case of mistaken identity that allows a lonely old man one last chance to be part of a family.

Her new book, When Lemons Give You Life, tells the story of retired Michelin Star who is determined to not spend his final meal easting beige nursing home food.
