Here are three subtle changes to iPhone Mirroring in iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate that have further improved my user experience.
In this brief post, I talk about three small changes to iPhone Mirroring in iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate that have further improved my user experience.

Note that as of writing, iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate are in the developer beta stage.
1. Control Center accessI recently published a post talking about 9 things I don’t like about iPhone Mirroring, and one of the reasons was the lack of Control Center.
macOS 27 and iOS 27 fix this issue, and you can now open Control Center during iPhone Mirroring by pressing the Command + 4 keys.
But I think Apple should also add an on-screen button at the top so I can invoke Control Center without using the keyboard when I’m on the sofa or bed (see the image below).

macOS 27 and iOS 27 offer many more window resize options. Just press the Command + + or Command + - keys to change the window size. Previously, it was limited to just three sizes: Larger, Actual Size, and Smaller. And the larger size even had scaling issues, where a portion would be cut off on MacBooks with 13-inch screens.

iOS 27 has enough hints that a foldable iPhone is coming later this year. One of the most obvious giveaways is that the iPhone Mirroring window is no longer fixed to a vertical window.
When you’re in Music, Photos, Files, Messages, Phone, and other Apple apps, you can place the pointer to the left or right edge and drag it to make it bigger, like a tablet or foldable iPhone.
You have the liberty to adjust the window in any direction, which also seems to hint at Split Screen or Slide Over multitasking on the foldable iPhone.

Note: When you go to the Home Screen, the iPhone Mirroring window will switch back to its original vertical size. However, the good thing is that iPhone Mirroring remembers your preference, and when you return to that app, the window size will return to its previous foldable view.
What do you think of these new changes?
Some problems are still there…By the way, I still have these issues with iPhone Mirroring (but most of them should be solved by the time iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate release for the general public in the fall):

What else do you think Apple should add to iPhone Mirroring?
