Casio’s new Bluetooth-equipped F-B100W watches are finally up for grabs.Casio’s F-B100W-1A and F-B100W-3A are now available in the UK for £55, blending the F-91W’s retro styling with Bluetooth connectivity and step tracking. The practical upgrades make them compelling low-maintenance smartwatch alternatives, though Casio has yet to confirm a launch for wider international markets.
Casio’s hotly anticipated F-B100 series watches officially made their way outside Japan last week, with Casio UK listing the teal F-B100W-3A and black F-B100W-1A as coming soon and confirming their pricing. Now, the wait is over as both Bluetooth-equipped watches are finally available to buy.
The Casio F-B100W-3A and F-B100W-1A are now available for purchase directly from Casio’s UK website for £55. Unfortunately, the F-B100W-1B with its negative display isn't launching alongside these two, and there's still no confirmation from Casio about its subsequent launch.
The new F-B100W models bring some decidedly modern features to the F-91W’s familiar retro design, including Bluetooth connectivity and built-in step tracking.
The F-B100W keeps the F-91W's iconic design, featuring a compact 41.9 x 38.1 x 8.8mm resin case and a lightweight 26-gram build, and retains handy features such as an LED backlight, stopwatch, countdown timer, five daily alarms, and water resistance.
But the real party trick is the built-in motion sensor, which allows the watch to track up to 999,999 steps and display your progress toward the set daily goal on a 6-level graph. There’s even a step reminder that can nudge you when it thinks you’ve been sitting around for too long.
Bluetooth connectivity takes things a step further. Pairing the watch with Casio’s WATCHES app enables automatic time adjustment, access to roughly 300 world time cities, life-log data, easier watch settings, and a phone-finder feature.
None of this turns the F-B100W into a miniature smartwatch that needs to be plugged in every night. Casio rates battery life at around two years from a single CR2016 battery.
For now, the F-B100W-1A and F-B100W-3A are only available in the UK. There’s still no word on when Casio plans to bring these upgraded F-91W-inspired watches to the US or other markets.
