With a length of 43 millimeters, a diameter of 53 millimeters, and a weight of 266 grams, the lens is relatively compact. Brightin Star offers only a version for the Leica M-mount, which can also be used on mirrorless system cameras from Sony, Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, and others via simple adapters. It lacks autofocus. Manual focus is possible on objects from a distance of at least 0.3 meters.

The Brightin Star MF 35 mm f/1.7 APO is currently being funded on Kickstarter. The lens costs $759 as part of the “Launch Special”. The price is expected to rise to $1,199 later on.
