With the Retro X3, Acemagic is launching a mini-PC that visually stands out significantly from the usual, mostly plain-looking compact computers. The case is deliberately reminiscent of classic game consoles, making the Retro X3 a real eye-catcher on any desk. However, beneath this unusual exterior lies modern PC technology.

The system is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 255 processor. This eight-core processor delivers solid single- and multi-core performance and maintains a stable power consumption of up to 54 watts under sustained load. The integrated Radeon 780M handles graphics. It offers decent performance for this class of iGPU and is suitable not only for everyday and multimedia tasks but also for occasional gaming, particularly older retro titles. The Retro X3 offers flexible configuration options. Two M.2 slots are available for storage, allowing a second NVMe drive to be installed in addition to the factory-installed SSD. The SSD and Wi-Fi module are accessible after removing the top cover and the underlying heat sink—a tool-free process. The RAM, on the other hand, is soldered in place.

The Acemagic Retro X3’s cooling system handles heat dissipation reliably even under sustained load. However, the mini-PC reveals some weaknesses in terms of fan noise and energy efficiency.
